Dr. George Margetas
George P. Margetas, DO is a native of York and enjoys working in the community where he was raised. Dr. Margetas treats all general orthopaedic problems with special interest and training in joint replacements of the hip and knee. Dr. Margetas uses the most advanced technologies and minimally invasive approaches to return his patients back to the activities they enjoy. He places great importance on spending time with his patients to help them understand their orthopaedic condition as well as the treatment options.
Dr. Margetas also treats many general orthopaedic conditions, including minor trauma, sports injuries and upper extremity issues. In his leisure time, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends. His interests are travel, exercise, sports and hunting.

After suffering years/decades of knee pain and meeting with 4 other Orthopedic Surgeons I chose Dr Margetas. I am so thankful I did. My first appointment he spent 45 minutes with me explaining everything and every step. Straightforward, factual, and honest. Left knee replaced in March right knee in August. Pre surgery my right leg could not get closer than 20 degrees to being flat and would not bend past 92 degrees. Six weeks post op my leg is at zero flat and bending to 108 degrees a 36 degree change in six weeks!!! As a former healthcare employee the hospitals in the surrounding counties should take lessons from OSS. The staff is outstanding. The maintenance team, housekeeping, RNs and CNAs everyone there cared. You do not see that unless their leadership cares and supports them.
