With the continued rise in the number of female athletes competing at all levels of play, OSS Health has worked to build a team of providers who have special interest and training in working with and treating the female athlete.

  • No matter what level of activity you are involved in, women of all ages strive to achieve optimal performance while staying active.

    OSS Health’s Female Athlete Clinic consists of a collaborative effort in prevention, diagnosing, treating, and managing any type of sports injury that may occur. By working with specialists in multiple fields, we are able to treat the female patient by assessing exercise habits, identifying hormonal changes and bone density, providing nutrition expertise and determining psychological needs.

    At the head of the OSS Health Female Athlete Clinic is Dr. Abbie Kelley who has a special interest in treating athletic injuries in females to help elevate their performance in their sport or any activity they love. She completed a Primary Care Sports Medicine fellowship at York Hospital and is board-certified in both Family Medicine and Sports Medicine. Dr. Kelley has a special interest in treating athletic injuries in females of all ages and levels of play to optimize sports performance.

Meet The Doctor

Abbie Kelley, DO

Dr. Abbie Kelley, our primary care sports medicine physician, recently launched the Female Athlete Clinic where she spends the necessary time evaluating and treating the female athlete as a whole. As a former college athlete herself, she believes in the power of sport. Staying active is so important at any age, and there are different needs for athletes competing at different levels. Female athletes require special attention, as they are more susceptible to certain injuries and conditions. Our goal is to optimize performance through prevention and management of these conditions specific to female athletes. Dr. Kelley takes a comprehensive team approach to address medical, orthopedic, psychological and nutritional needs of the female athlete. Together, let us strive to minimize injury, maximize potential and continue to empower women in sport!
